Climate The plateau (high tableland of central Spain) has a continental climate: scorching in summer, cold in winter, and dry. Madrid regularly freezes in December, January and February, and temperatures climb above 30°C in July and August. Valladolid on the northern plateau and Zaragoza in the Ebro basin are even drier, with only around 300mm of rain a year (little more than Alice Springs in Australia). The Guadalquivir basin in Andalusia is only a little wetter and positively broils in high summer, with temperatures of 35°C-plus in Seville that kill people every year.
The Pyrenees and the Cordillera Cantabrica, backing the Bay of Biscay, bear the brunt of cold northern and north-western airstreams, which bring moderate temperatures and heavy rainfall (three or four times as much as Madrid’s) to the north coast. Even in high summer you never know when you might get a shower.
The Mediterranean coast and Balearic Islands get a little more rain than Madrid, and the south can be even hotter in summer. The Mediterranean, particularly around Alicante, also provides Spain’s warmest waters (reaching 27°C or so in August). Barcelona’s weather is typical of the coast – milder than in inland cities but more humid.
In general you can usually rely on pleasant or hot temperatures just about everywhere from April to early November. Andalusia has plenty of warm, sunny days right through winter. In July and August, temperatures can get unpleasantly hot inland.
Snowfalls in the mountains can start as early as October and some snow cover lasts all year on the highest peaks. How to arrive Once the location is confirmed you will be advised of how to get to your destiny. Then you can find different flying options in our web: www.puromundo.com Coin Euro (€)

Food and Habits Spanish food is appreciated and valued worldwide for its quality and variety of products and dishes.
In Spain, the differences in climate and lifestyle that makes each region maintained the tradition food in the area. Recipes reinterpreted by Spanish chefs today have contributed to assess the Spanish cuisine as one of the most interesting parts of the world of gastronomy. As a special note, the Arabic influence in southern Spain is particularly strong in the use of fruits and vegetables, olive oil, spices and some desserts Andalusia. Depending on the city of their choice, students have the opportunity to try regional dishes such as boiled Madrid, the pig of Castille and Leon, the Paella Valencia or Gazpacho Andaluz.
Andalusia is the land of vines and olive trees. This region produces large quantities of olive oil, and grapes with a special flavour, was the genuine sherry. In the recipes in your kitchen is an exotic Arabic influence, especially widely used in desserts almonds, figs, egg yolks and cream with thick caramel. The lids are a tradition in Andalusia and are quite common in bars to accompany the wine or beer with a dish of olives.
With the discovery of America, came to Spain many new products, which will soon be incorporated into the kitchen and Spanish especially in Andalusia. Among the new ingredients include the tomato and pepper, which today are the foundation of many typical Andalusian dishes, and we now know the generic name of gazpachos. Gazpacho, is perhaps one of the most universally known Spanish dishes by foreigners.
Andalusia also comes in a variety of fish and shellfish. Anchovies cooked in many ways, some of the recipes most typical lemon anchovy in the Malaga, fried anchovies and anchovies in vinegar.
Breakfast
Many people take a mid-morning breakfast in a cafe and bar or just coffee and pastries. The fresh orange juice is also popular and can be ordered in most cafeterias. Do not be surprised if offered juice with a bag of sugar. In families, breakfast is a cup of coffee, milk or chocolate milk, served with biscuits, muffins, toast or rolls. Many students take advantage of the rest of the morning to take the second breakfast in the cafeteria because the lunch hour is much later in Spain than in other countries. The most traditional Spanish breakfast is "churros" or "cheers" with hot chocolate. Try a coffee shop or a churrería this typical breakfast, similar to donuts, freshly fried every morning. If you prefer a stronger breakfast, you can ask for a cap tortilla sandwich a mixed or mixed with egg.
Lunch
It is eaten between 13:30 and 16:00 h. and is the main meal of the day for the Spaniards. Almost all restaurants offer a "menu" when the food comes out cheaper than choosing a la carte dishes and can include excellent. A "menu" is normally a starter, one main and dessert. You can choose from 2 or 3 options for each dish, and also includes bread and wine or other beverage.
The first course can be as light as a soup or salad, or as strong as lentils with sausage. The second plate can be fish, meat or chicken. The dessert can be seasonal fruit, pudding or cake. The wine, which is typically included in the menu, it is not the best and often takes the Spanish mixed with 'gas', slightly sweet and refreshing drink with gas. Of course you can pay more and get a bottle of wine quality. Contrary to what many people think of other countries, it is common that people lie siesta after lunch.
Dinner
Spaniards eat dinner very late compared with other countries, between 21:00 and 23:00 h. especially in the summer or on weekends. While some heavy dinner, others just take something as light appetizers, a salad or sandwich.
